Meet Deena
Deena Jewers
Child, Adolescent, & Family Therapist
Masters of Education, Registered Counselling Therapist, RCT
Deena Jewers is a Registered Counselling Therapist who brings over 20 years of experience supporting children, adolescents, and families. She holds a Master of Education in Leadership with a concentration in Mental Health and a Master of Education in Counselling. Her background reflects a strong commitment to both clinical excellence and compassionate, developmentally attuned care.
Deena’s therapeutic approach is grounded in attachment theory, with a deep appreciation for the role relationships play in emotional growth and healing. Her work aligns with the principles of Theraplay®, supporting safe, nurturing, and playful interactions that help strengthen the caregiver-child bond. She is also trained in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), and Narrative Therapy, allowing her to adapt her approach to meet each client’s unique needs.
While she primarily works with children and adolescents, Deena also welcomes adults and families seeking support with emotional well-being, life transitions, or relationship challenges. She believes therapy is not about offering quick answers, but about creating a supportive, respectful environment where clients can explore, grow, and heal at their own pace. She holds the space where individuals of all ages feel seen, heard, and supported.
“My role isn’t to fix children—it’s to help them feel safe enough to be fully themselves, and to remind them (and the adults who love them) that they already have what they need to grow, connect, and thrive.” — Deena
