Raya has joined us for her practicum while she nears the completion of the Masters of Counselling Therapy program at Yorkville University. She has experience volunteering with the Canadian Red Cross, specifically their Friendly Calls Program. Through this experience she was able to care for the overall well-being of people who live in Canada with her team, by creating and fostering a sense of strength and connection amongst communities. At Mindhous Wellness, Raya is ready to provide therapeutic support in session through healthy coping strategies, well-being resources, and community connections. Raya believes that everyone deserves to benefit from human connection, no matter what you have been through, or the story of your past.
Raya works from a person-centered and solution-focused lens. She uses modalities such as cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) and mindfulness-based approaches. Raya is passionate about helping clients who experience anxiety, depression, and general mental health suffering. She promotes self-compassion and self-love to all.
When Raya is practicing her own self-care, you can find her reading, drawing, painting, camping, and spending time with family and friends. Raya also enjoys going for walks with family and her Shih Tzu Yorkie.
